Gartang Gali
One of the most thrilling and exciting treks in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Gartang Gali, opened for visitors and tourists in 2021 after 59 years. Located in the picturesque Nelong Valley near the India-China border. The 150-year-old Gartang Gali is a 136-metre-long wooden lined staircase. about which it is said that it was built by Peshawari Pathans. Who cut it and made an architectural masterpiece. Granite of a vertical rock face. This route was traditionally used by merchants conducting trade between India and Tibet. It had broken in the years after it was rendered unusable after the Indo-China war in 1962.
The 1.8-metre-wide bridge, which stands at about 3,352 meters. (11,000 ft), with great effort rebuilt, challenges even the most ardent adventure-seeker. Hanging from a rocky ledge, it overlooks the picturesque Nelong Valley. and the flora and fauna. It is an easy trek of about 2.5 km through dense forests to all the tension washes away.
While being pleasant, it is said that this is the bridge that Austrian mountaineer.
The Jadh Ganga, an important tributary of the Bhagirathi River, flows through a narrow gorge flanked by steep cliffs.

Naga – fork roads to Pulam Sumda / Sumla and Mendi Gad Glacier:
at Naga, where the road forks into two, is the confluence of two tributaries of the Jadh Ganga, the Jadhang River (Jadhang Gad) which originates from a glacier near Sumla/Pulam Sumda in the north and the Nilapani River (Nilapani Gad) which originates from a glacier north of Mana Pass to the east. Mana Pass is not reachable via this road as this route lies to the north of the mountain and glacier, which blocks it from the pass in the south.
