Panch Kedar Temple

The Panch Kedar is a group of five Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India.

1 Day: Haridwar to Rudraprayag

  • Start your journey from Haridwar in the morning.
  • Drive to Rudraprayag, which is approximately 165 kilometers from Haridwar and takes around 6-7 hours to reach.
  • Check into a hotel and rest for the night.

2 Day: Rudraprayag to Kedarnath

  • After breakfast, drive to Gaurikund, which is around 76 kilometers from Rudraprayag. This is the base camp for the Kedarnath trek.
  • Begin your trek to Kedarnath, which is approximately 16 kilometers from Gaurikund.
  • Reach Kedarnath and visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the Panch Kedar temples.
  • Stay overnight in Kedarnath.

3 Day: Kedarnath to Rudraprayag

  • Attend the morning aarti at the Kedarnath Temple.
  • Start your descent back to Gaurikund.
  • From Gaurikund, drive back to Rudraprayag.
  • Check into a hotel and rest for the night.

4 Day: Rudraprayag to Tungnath-Chopta

  • After breakfast, drive to Chopta via Ukhimath.
  • En route, visit the Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, which is part of the Panch Kedar.
  • Continue your drive to Chopta.
  • Check into a hotel or camp in Chopta and spend the night there.

5 Day: Chopta to Madhyamaheshwar

  • Begin your journey to Madhyamaheshwar early in the morning.
  • Drive to Ukhimath, and from there, trek to Madhyamaheshwar. The trek is approximately 16 kilometers.
  • Stay overnight in Madhyamaheshwar.

6 Day: Madhyamaheshwar to Guptkashi

  • After attending the morning aarti at Madhyamaheshwar Temple, start your trek back to Ukhimath.
  • From Ukhimath, drive to Guptkashi, which is around 40 kilometers away.
  • Check into a hotel in Guptkashi and rest for the night.

7 Day: Guptkashi to Kalpeshwar

  • After breakfast, drive to Helang.
  • From Helang, you’ll need to trek to Kalpeshwar, which is approximately 10 kilometers.
  • Stay overnight near Kalpeshwar.

8 Day: Kalpeshwar to Haridwar

  • After morning darshan at Kalpeshwar Temple, begin your return journey to Haridwar.
  • Drive back to Haridwar, which is about 205 kilometers from Kalpeshwar.
  • Reach Haridwar by evening, concluding your Panch Kedar pilgrimage.
